Happy Thanksgiving!
The pocket-sized coloring book called Enchanted Faces by Hannah Lynn has become a favorite of mine. Fifty single sided pages with mermaids and fairies - all with flowing hair that is super fun to color. This picture was colored with Copic markers.

Alcohol Markers are Fun!
Playing around with Spectrum Noir pens and the fun coloring book they offer. Really great images. If you haven't colored with alcohol markers you don't know what you're missing. The Spectrum Noir pens are less expensive than Copics so it's a good way to get started and see if you like it. Be warned - you may get hooked and want every color! Color on!

A Card for the Jinger Adams Design Team Call

This is exciting! I am a Jinger Adams fan and I love having the opportunity to try out for her very first Design Team. I met Jinger a little over a year ago at a Cricut Circle event and she is as sweet in person as she has always seemed to me on TV. I can't wait to see what Jinger has in store for us in her brand new craft line AND in her upcoming shoe line! Click here to check out what Jinger and Theresa, The Scrapbooking Queen are looking for in picking this team.
I'd like to share with you how I made this card 'from the ground up'!
The shoe is made from a black outline shoe sticker which I placed on glittered adhesive white cardstock. Then I colored it in with Copic markers. Here's how I did it.

I started with Soonwang adhesive on matte white cardstock. After peeling off the cover, I put a very generous amount of microfine glitter on the adhesive cardstock and tapped off the excess. I used a plastic container which makes this microfine glitter easy to store and avoids extra clean up.

Next, I burnished (a fancy word for rub) the glitter into the adhesive using the Soonwang waxy cover sheet.

Now that the glitter cardstock is complete, it's time to remove the black outline sticker very carefully from the sticker sheet. I used my fingertip to hold onto the sticker before placing it gently and carefully down onto the glitter cardstock.

Then I placed the Soonwang waxy cover on top of the sticker and burnished again using the end of a Copic marker.

The shoe was now ready to color with Copic markers. I chose the colors based on the card concept and color/type of cardstock that I was going to use for my card. Even after I picked out the Copic markers I was going to use, I was still unsure how I wanted to color in my shoe. So, I did a rough sketch of the shoe and played with coloring to see how the shoe would look- I didn't want to mess up my shoe that I had worked so hard to create!

Now that the shoe was finished, I cut it out and gathered all the cardstock, ribbon and embellishments to make the card.

And here again is the final product! Isn't that shoe just gorgeous?!

This A2 card was made using:
DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack
Elizabeth Craft Designs sticker
Sookwang adhesive on matte white cardstock
Crystal Glitter Ritz transparent microfine glitter with warm highlight
Martha Stewart edge punch
Copic markers
American Crafts blue button
white ribbon
pink twine
Scrapbook Adhesives 3D foam squares
glue dots
I have shared this card on my Pinterest gallery and the Two Peas in a Bucket gallery.
I'd like to thank you for stopping by to see my card. A special thank you goes out to Jinger Adams and Theresa, The Scrapbooking Queen for coming by to evaluate my work and many thanks for their kind consideration of me as a possible member of the Design Team. I would love the opportunity to be a part of the fun!
Now go have yourself a very happy crafting day!

A Thank You Card for Peachy Keen Challenge 10

The challenge this week from the Peachy Keen Challenge blog is Just Cards-Faux Stitching. I just recently bought this darling stamp from Peachy Keen Stamps and could not wait to use it! The challenge is simple -make a card and include faux stitching. The fun part of making this card was coloring the stamp with Copic markers! I stamped the image twice and cut out the biggest flower so I could layer it over the first stamped image using a pop dot to give the flower dimension. And, of course, I put faux stitching around the border of the yellow cardstock shape!
This A2 card was made using:
Kraft cardstock base
Teresa Collins patterned paper
Peachy Keen Stamps-Natalee (PK-210)
Cricut Imagine Hopscotch cartridge - yellow cardstock
Cricut Imagine shape stock image
EK Success Abstract Flower edge punch
Stamps of Life sentiment
Copic markers
Spica pens
Craft Essentials black ribbon
I'm so glad you stopped by my blog today! Have a happy crafting day!

Cre8tivegirls Blogoversary Blog Hop Day 3!

Welcome to day 3 of the Cre8tivegirls Blogoversary Blog Hop! Sadly, this is the last day! It has been so much fun celebrating Yvette's first blog anniversary with our own "firsts". Doing something new these last few days has been really great and has stretched me some ;-) .
If you've arrived from Doris' blog, you are in the right place! If not, you will want to start at the beginning at Yvette's blog. Be sure to wish her a Happy Blog Anniversary!
This is my first center step card. Check out this link for easy to follow instructions on how to make this card. It's very simple and quick to make the base card. Picking out your patterned paper, embellishments and main focus of the card will take more time. At least it takes me more time - a lot of time, lol!

This is also the first time I have used this incredibly cute and funny digital image and sentiment! From the moment I saw it I knew I HAD to use it soon! Isn't it hilarious?? This digital image/sentiment was a freebie from the marvelous Marlooney (Marlene). Thanks so much Marlene!! Check out her blog here!

Although I'm sure I will have plenty of opportunities to use this card (I should have about 20 of these on hand, at least!), I am choosing to keep it in my craft space! It makes me smile every time I look at it!
To make this card I used:
digital stamp image/sentiment from Marlooney
Basic Grey Offbeat collection - paper and cardstock stickers
Copic markers
Another first for me is that I used patterned paper in my digital image. I printed the image on white cardstock and on patterned paper. Then I cut out the dress from the patterned paper and glued it to the image on the white cardstock. Then of course I colored the rest of the image with Copic markers.
I hope you enjoyed my card and had a laugh! Boy, do we need a laugh now a days!
Be sure to hop on over to Paula's blog and see what she has created for the last day of this fabulous blog hop!

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #55 and Mad For Markers Challenge:Pink and Yellow

Here's my card for Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #55. I'm also entering this into my very first Mad For Markers Challenge: Pink and Yellow. I love coloring with my Copic markers -I'm learning and practicing! I thought I'd jump in to this challenge - thank you Mad For Markers!

This cute little hamster holding a cupcake is a digital image from Sliekje Digi Stamps. Sliekje is so talented! And the digital images she draws and shares on her blog are free! That is so generous. I just love all her images.
For this 5x7 card I used:
Sliekje digital image/stamp Cupcake Hamster
Cricut Imagine Better Together cartridge -all patterned papers
Technique Tuesday Happy Birthday stamp
Copic markers
tiny pearl accents
This was a great sketch! Thanks Peachy Keen! I entered this card with minutes to spare as the challenge was about to close. Wow, it was close. And of course my camera wasn't cooperating. Some strange setting appeared and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off so many of the pictures I took were blurry. So these pictures are not the best but at least I figured out later how to fix the camera.

My two little girls wanted to color this cute little hamster too and I told them I'd put a picture of their work on the blog. They didn't get to use my Copics!! They did such a good job! I'm enjoying that we can all work together in our craft space even though it makes me a bit crazy when they get into some of my stuff - but it's just stuff so I take a deep breath and try to keep a smile on my face. But the Copics are still off limits :-).
Thank you for stopping by. Please leave a comment with your blog address so I can visit you!

Cricut Circle Blog Weekly Challenge #1

The challenge this week was to use the French Manor cartridge on a project. Also, we needed to use at least two cuts and include pearls or jewels. You can check out the challenge here. I have just become a Circle member so it was nice to jump in and make something with this new cartridge. It was also really fun to use the Imagine to print and cut everything on this card (except the Kraft cardstock).
This 5x7 card was made using:
Cricut Imagine Best Friends cartridge for all the pattern/solid paper
French Manor cartridge-birdcage, bird and table
Cuttlebug
pearls
Hero Arts stamp
Bazzill Kraft cardstock
brown chalk ink
Copic warm gray marker
pop dots
I used the Copic marker to add shading on the table to give it a little more dimension. And since its HP ink, it didn't run! I'm excited to be able to use my Copics with Imagine machine creations.
Thanks for taking a peak! Have a great day.

Sweet, Sweet Summer!

Oh the joys of sleeping in a little bit, taking the kids to the park, swinging on the swings and having a picnic! Ah, summer! How sweet it is! So, today I'm sharing a card featuring some sweet strawberries - a perfect summer treat. This is a rubber cling stamp for which I wish I could give the designer/manufacturer credit but I threw out the package some time ago. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink by Tsukneko. The ink you use with Copic markers is very important. This one doesn't run and therefore doesn't ruin your expensive Copic marker! Also, I stamped the image on Georgia Pacific white cardstock which I got for a good price at Walmart. I think this cardstock is great to use with Copics and I have tried more expensive brands. The red background is embossed using the Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dot folder. Boy, I get a lot of use out of that Swiss Dot folder!! The black ribbon is from Joann's. Did you notice that the image is crooked on the card? Yep, what a bummer but hey nothing is ever perfect anyway!
Enjoy your summer and all the sweet moments shared with your family!

Gotta Love Copic Markers!

I guess I'm a kid at heart who likes to color. That's what I feel like when I you use Copic markers. And there are lots of great things to color with online digital stamps (many for free by the way) and free online clip art. I love the versatility with both of these as you can make your image whatever size you want. In this 5x7 card I colored a cute Precious Moments clip art scene I copied for free online. The papers are from Basic Grey. The border punch is from Martha Stewart.
